Sam wished he got the chance to talk to her, but the opportunity never came up. It didn’t help that they left only after a week, but still he wished he got to know her.

The next time they saw each other, they were both so different. She hardly remembered him, and he the same. Except Sam felt connected somehow, to her. Even when he realized that she was with another girl, Sam felt drawn to her. Maybe because he could see what other didn’t notice. He saw the good intentions, he saw the power, and he saw the addiction.

When Tara died, Sam saw her lose it, just like he almost lost it. When Xander saved the world, Sam saw her get saved too. He wished he was a part of it, but he was always watching from a distance.

Two years later, they meet again.
